Ukrainian Army in Mourning: MiG Pilot "Died After Completing a Combat Mission"

A Ukrainian fighter pilot died while returning from a combat mission, the Ukrainian Air Force announced on social media. The tragic accident occurred during the MiG's approach to land. The Ukrainian Air Force extended its condolences to the pilot's family and friends.
"On the night of August 23, 2025, after completing a combat mission during approach to landing, the pilot of a MiG-29 fighter died," reads a statement from the Ukrainian Air Force.
The pilot was Major Serhiy Viktorovich Bondar, born in 1979. The Ukrainian military did not provide details about the incident . The statement emphasized that the causes and circumstances of the crash are being investigated.

The last similar incident occurred on June 29th. Russia then launched a massive missile and drone strike. During the attack, an F-16 aircraft was damaged and Ukrainian pilot Maksym Ustymenko was killed.
